On Saturday July 31st 2021, the wife and I traveled to the Ernest Warther Museum & Gardens.
It is located in Dover Ohio off of interstate 77. It is just north of New Philadelphia and just east of Sugarcreek Ohio.
At the Warther carving museum, you can explore the Swiss style gardens, A 3 acre Park, that has a saddle tank engine and a caboose on display. On sight is the Family home, a 73,000 button collection that belonged to Frieda his wife. the Warther cutlery building were you can purchase some of the best kitchen and carving knives around. The museum itself houses a very unique collection of steam Locomotive carvings, which are carved from walnut, ebony and ivory.
The Smithsonian has deemed the collection as a priceless work of art.

Ernest "Mooney" Warther, the world's master carver, was born in 1885 to Swiss immigrant parents. Mooney began carving at age 5. His focus was the evolution of the steam engine. The museum has over 100 pieces in the collection. It is located at
331 Karl ave.
