South Africa - Cape Town - 27 May 2022 - Kruger National Park, the heart of South Africa's bush. It is also where the fight against wildlife poachers gets fought every day by the brave conservation warriors of SANParks. Tucked away between the park's Maroela trees and far away from the public roads, lies the anti-poaching camp, Mokhohlolo. It is here where our hosts John Turner, Chairman of the SANParks Honorary Rangers, and John Hooper, MD of the Mount Vernon wine Estate and Rhino Tears wine, took us on an awakening journey through the facts, tactics, and solutions of the war against poaching. Launched at the end of 2014, Rhino Tears wine has already raised almost R3 million to be used in the war against rhino poaching within South Africa’s national parks. Rhino Tears donates R15 from every bottle sold directly to the SANParks Honorary Rangers. The donations are used to provide the field rangers with the equipment they need to protect our rhinos.
