Humans have been programmed for Eons that they are somehow flawed and that humanity is broken. Even little children are conditioned towards this. Growing up with polarity and everyone buying into this narrative the subconscious mind quickly starts to believe that this must be true, as everyone else believes it too.

You are perfect as you are, you have just forgotten that you are a divine being, incarnating on this planet to embody, express and be yourself, as yourself.
