Clear Creek ISD disciplinary policies should be applied fairly for all students, and give kids the benefit of the doubt whenever possible.

But too often, the ramifications of rash disciplinary decisions are amplified by an appeals process that is not only hard to navigate, but also places the district's interests over those of its students.

In this video, District 5 Board of Trustees Candidate Christine Parizo discusses CCISD's policy shortcomings and opportunities for change with Paulette Roberson, whose grandson James Collins was twice falsely accused of wrongdoing by district administrators. Roberson believes CCISD often disciplines African-American students at a higher rate, and that the current Board of Trustees isn't addressing disciplinary inconsistencies.
