Sunday Longplay - Akane the Kunoichi (Steam) - All Kimonos, All Achievements

This Valentine's Day on Sunday Longplay, I'm playing a small indie game that I remember playing a demo of on the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Indie Games service. It was a cute, fun little platformer that I later saw on Steam for only $3.00 at normal price (and on sale for even less!), so I thought I might as well pick it up. This is Akane the Kunoichi!

This game stars a ninja named Akane who is in love with her ninja master Goro. But when Goro gets kidnapped, Akane must fight through waves of enemy ninjas and giant monster bosses to save him! Basic Mario-style story.

The game itself is pretty short, but the later stages actually get pretty hard, especially if you're trying to grab all of the collectable kimonos in each level for the good ending. You think it will be a short and easy walk in the park? Think again!

Overall, the game is pretty standard and kind of short, but challenging, fun, and rewarding in the end. And for only $3 (or sometimes even less than a dollar on sale), it's a good game for gamers on a budget.
