Mountain bike accident results in a CHP hoist operation

Shortly before 7 pm, CHP H-30 responded with Contra Costa Fire, East Bay Parks, and AMR to a report of a mountain bike collision in Briones Park.

H-30 arrived overhead and located the patient on a difficult to assess trail. H-30 lowered a CHP Flight Officer/Paramedic to the scene and made contact with the rider.

The patient was hoisted from the trail and transferred to waiting Contra Costa County Firefighters. This is the third rescue H-30 responded to on Memorial Day. Unfortunately, some of the riders sustained major injuries.
