Legacy Conversations - SADF - Sharon - “The Lomba River Battle Song”

On 3 October 1987, Second Lieutenant Adrian Hinds, 61 Mech, fell during the Battle of the Lomba River, Angola. It was the largest tank battle in Southern Africa where the lightly armoured Ratels stopped a main battle tank advance in its tracks. Military history was made that day.

In 2020, Sharon wrote and dedicated a song to that battle and Lieutenant Hinds whom her father knew and served with. This song became a smash hit amongst SADF veterans. It is called the “The Lomba River Battle Song.”

Legacy Conversations recorded an interview with the young woman who is something of a Force's favourite. She explains the background and what else she is doing, i.e. a new song which is coming out to honour SADF members. Please subscribe and press the bell to be informed of new videos. Spread the word and support her efforts.
