An obsessed amateur scientist steals a diamond in order to make a lens for a super-powerful microscope and is unprepared for what he finds.

Fitz-James Brien was an Irish-born American writer. Some of his works -- including "The Diamond Lens" -- are considered forerunners of modern science fiction.

Favorite Story is an American old-time radio dramatic anthology. It was nationally syndicated by the Ziv Company from 1946 to 1949. The program was "advertised as a show that 'stands head and shoulders above the finest programs on the air'"
