Lyndon was a guide Dog and Darlene was a blind lady and together they traveled all around the city and liked to ride the bus.

Lyndon was just a Pup. A mixed retriever and a Lab.
He was living in a shelter and that was pretty bad.
They were about to put him under, when they got the phone call.
It was the lighthouse for the blind and they wanted to know if they could spare a good Dog.

When Darlene was born, she had two eyes
but none that you could see through,
so it was always night.
It was hard to get around, thru the darkness and the fog
And then she met Lyndon, her new guide Dog.

"Now things are looking up, as you can see.
We travel all about, this great big city.
I can almost visualize the sun passing by.
Hanging by a string, somewhere in the sky."

Now Lyndon was pretty sharp, he always knew what to do.
He didnt take much guff and he always kept his cool.
He was trained to protect. To be a companion and a friend.
Loyal to the end, he was Heaven sent.

Darlene always wore a smile, the kind you knew was true.
Its like she had some kind of secret and could see right thru you.
I guess you could take this a couple different ways.
You could ask why me, or you can be like Lyndon and Darlene
For together they were meant to be.

So many kind people and such a very good Dog.
