Legacy Conversations – Guests – WingCo “Prop” Preller Geldenhuys, Rhodesian Air Force, Retired 3

We speak to Wing Commander Prop Preller Geldenhuys, Rhodesian Air Force, Retired. Now living in New Zealand, WinCo flew combat operations for almost 20 years before retiring in 1982. An absolutely fascinating conversation with a man that flew the Hunters, Vampires, and Canberras right through the Rhodesian Bush War where many South African units were secretly involved. After leaving the jet squadrons he flew the Lynx and Trojan in combat. His aircraft was hit three times on different occasions.
He tells us of his many books (link below) that he wrote as well as books that he wants the viewers to read. Winco then states his views on the sabotage of several Zimbabwean aircraft under Project Barnacle, something that caused shockwaves with officers arrested and abused under the Zimbabwe Regime. He then speaks of New Zealand history as written in several books by himself. WinCo is a man with vast knowledge from which we can all learn. A fascinating hour-long conversation with an extremely interesting man. If you have questions for the Wing Commander, please leave them below. Subscribe and activate the bell to be informed of new episodes (of which there will be many). We also ask that you support his books, they are excellent – link below.
