Hollywood, Don't Take The Wrong Lessons From Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun: Maverick premiered over Memorial Day Weekend 2022 and it grossed more than $150 Million at The Domestic Box Office. Now, Box Office Numbers can be skewed based on a number of factors from the timing of a release all the way down to how many theaters did the studio buy out of the various multiplexes. One thing that can't be denied is this is Tom Cruise's Biggest Opening Weekend (not accounting for inflation).

Variety wrote up a piece that I agree with that hits on two main points, the first being Nostalgia and the second being Legacy Sequels and how that alone didn't make Top Gun: Maverick a success

Game Played:
Top Gun (NES)
