Municipal Broadband Bans and CenturyLink's Taxpayer Ripoff - They've Taken BILLIONS - Jody Bruchon

CenturyLink has taken literal billions of taxpayer dollars and spent it on flushing competitors out of business rather than what it was earmarked for: extending broadband service to unserved and under-served areas. They also joined other huge telecoms in lobbying to ban taxpayer-funded municipal broadband which they call "unfair competition," despite taking taxpayer dollars. Or at least that's what everything I've read tells me.

In 2018, CenturyLink claimed to have exceeded 51% of the Connect America Fund requirements:
