This show is a part of the Texas Cigar Roadshow: The 2020 #1 Cigar Show on CigarScore.com, what we like to call a Pit Stop. When on the road you eventually need to take a pit stop where you can refuel and catch your breath. In a Texas Cigar Roadshow Pit Stop, Ian and I will have a cigar, a drink, or drinks, and talk about different cigar accessories, topics or individuals in the cigar industry, and how they will add to your cigar culture experience or knowledge.

All of us will be smoking Micallef cigars on this episode. I am smoking the Micallef Sumatra. Ian is smoking the Mata Fina and Stephen is smoking the Torcedores.

On this episode Ian and I sat down with one of the owners of Tobacco Cabana, Stephen Rast. He has been a cigar and pipe smoker for 30 years and is a bourbon enthusiast, to say the least. This all lends to what Tobacco Cabana is known for, a great staff that is driven to educate their customers. Stephen gives a little history of how they came about becoming the owners of Tobacco Cabana. We also talk about 2 great brands they are proud to carry; El Artista and Definition Cigars. El Artista has a cigar I love and one that is definitely under the radar for a lot of cigar smokers. It even surprised Stephen when he found it at IPCPR 2 years ago. Definition Cigars, DC, is a fast up and coming TX based cigar company with a unique story. Stay tuned to a future Pit Stop when we sit down with 2 of the DC owners.

For our 'Texas Toast' with you the viewers, we are drinking the TX Port Finish. TX Straight Bourbon Tawny Port Finish is created by taking fully matured 4-year-old TX Straight Bourbon and finishing it for 6 months in Tawny Port casks. Port is a red wine that is typically sweet, and the Tawny style is specifically known to possess rich caramel and nutty flavors. These casks came to us from the very birthplace of Port—all the way from Douro Valley in Portugal. Made from French White Oak—and specifically the oak species Quercus robur—these casks were used to age Tawny Port for 10 years before they were finally emptied and sent to our distillery. When we received these casks, it had been merely 4 weeks since the last drops of Tawny Port had been harvested. This brief timeline allowed for the port’s expressions to remain locked in the oak. As our bourbon rested in these casks for 6 months, i picked up rich flavors of fig, toffee, and toasted nuts, ultimately evolving into our beautiful Tawny Port Finish. Thank you for watching another episode of the Texas Cigar Roadshow Pit Stop and as always, Enjoy the leaf. Grow the culture.
