Late Friday night, CHP H-32 was advised that officers from the California Highway Patrol were following a stolen vehicle on I-80 from Contra Costa County.

H-32 arrived overhead in the area of I-80 and American Canyon Road as officers attempted to conduct a stop on the vehicle. As the driver fled, CHP H-32 followed from above and ground officers discontinued their involvement.

H-32 followed the suspect vehicle as the driver fled into the City of Fairfield. The driver continued to drive recklessly until he fled on foot in a neighborhood. Officers from the Fairfield Police Department were directed to the suspects location by H-32 where he was placed into custody.

The Contra Costa CHP Area will be investigating.
