Today, a 72-year-old woman dealing with Alzheimer's disease went missing from Motel 6 in Daytona Beach. Responding deputies checked surveillance video and determined she'd been missing for about 7 hours.
Air One responded to search from the air, and the crew was able to spot her in a swampy area of the Tomoka River that passes under International Speedway Boulevard. She was conscious, alert, and OK, but she was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for follow up.
Great work all! Especially to Air One, which had limited time to search as this area is in the path of the main runway at Daytona Beach International Airport.
