►MY TAKE►
Actor Johnny Depp (58) is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation over Amber Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed (Ghost Written by ACLU), in which she spoke out about being the victim of domestic violence and implied Johnny Depp was the abuser, at least that is what Depp is arguing in his defamation lawsuit. Depp’s lawsuit argued, “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Amber Heard in retaliation is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.

►Excerpt from Independent:
'A witness for Johnny Depp’s rebuttal has been allowed to testify despite having called Amber Heard “jealous and crazy” in a tweet posted during the couple’s defamation trial.

Mr Depp’s team on Tuesday called Morgan Night, who worked at the Hicksville trailer park that Ms Heard, Mr Depp and their friends visited in May 2013. During that trip, Ms Heard alleges Mr Depp trashed their trailer before performing a “cavity search” on her.

Before Mr Night took the stand, Judge Penney Azcarate sent out the jury so he could be questioned about what he’d seen of the trial before he learned he would be a witness.

Mr Night said that approximately five weeks ago, a friend of his texted that Hicksville was mentioned in court and he watched a short clip online.

He was contacted by Mr Depp’s attorneys and says that the description of the night at the Hicksville trailer park that has been mentioned was not how he recalled the incident and that the night was not particularly remarkable.

Mr Night said that he searched Twitter for mentions and replied to a tweet about what happened around the fire pit.

“That never happened. I was with them all night. Amber was the one acting all jealous and crazy,” his reply read. '

►Excerpt from Daily Mail:
' Consultant testifies that Heard's career would have been on an upward trajectory if not for Depp-Waldman statements

Kathryn Arnold testified Monday that Amber Heard's career was on the rise prior to the 'defamatory' statements made by Depp's former lawyer, Adam Waldman in 2020.

Waldman told media outlets that Heard made false allegations of abuse by Depp and that she staged the 'abuse hoax.'

Arnold said Heard received negativity on social media which halted her career.

She compared Heard's career to that of similar actors in the industry including Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Chris Pine and Ana de Armas - and said her career should have followed the same time frame.

All of them had a 'meteoric' rise after their 'star is born' moment and got lucrative endorsement deals and massive paychecks, Arnold said.

'It would have been very reasonable to believe her career would have been on an upward trajectory.'

Arnold said Heard was set to be on the cover of LA Style following her role on the Stephen King mii-series 'The Stand,' but was taken away following the 'Depp-Waldman statements.'

She said Heard made $200,000 per episode on 'The Stand' and it's likely that fee would have gone up from there with her agents using the leverage of the success of Aquaman. '

Excerpt from The Newyork Post:

'Expert witness Dr. David Spiegel sparred with Johnny Depp's lawyer Wayne Dennison during his cross-examination — and the heated back-and-forth often elicited laughs from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star.

The psychologist, called by Amber Heard's team, has testified that Depp's alleged use of an earpiece to feed him lines while filming could be a sign of cognitive decline or impairment from substantial drug and alcohol use.

"If I was giving a lecture and I was fed my lines, I would think there's a cognitive deficit," Spiegel said, adding it sounded "unusual.'
