Lexington police have released video of a March 30th incident when an officer hit a teenager with his cruiser.

Officer Nicolas Gray was responding to a call about 19-year-old Lima Long, who had run from another officer and was holding a knife. Long ran into the road, when he was hit by the cruiser.

Police say Gray was driving 40 MPH and had his emergency lights on at the time.

Long’s family says he has autism and was suffering a mental breakdown when police were called. They say Long is still in the hospital with a brain bleed.

Chief Lawrence Weathers said Kentucky State Police will be reviewing the investigation.
