Apparently when you stick to good story telling and honor the legacy characters of the IP your using, it turns out you make money! Who knew? Top Gun Maverick is breaking box office records for not only Memorial Day weekend but also Tom Cruise. This has been his biggest opening ever and it couldn't have come to a better franchise.
