Goldfinch songs - their songs and prayers

The name of goldfinch derives from "thistle", this small plant bristling with prickles which grows along the paths. According to some authors, this name was given to these birds because they feed on the seeds of thistle. However, the explanation for the frequentation of thistles by these birds could have another origin. In their movements, the sheep rub against the thistles and hang a few flakes of wool. Then, the goldfinch comes to take the flake, the fray to untangle it and pad the nest of its young, sometimes called gray birds.
