New video has been released of a wild Labor Day shootout between police and a gunman in Brooklyn who was killed in the gunfire.

Police released the half-hour-long collection of body camera and surveillance footage on Wednesday, nearly two years after the September 2019 encounter that killed 29-year-old Brandon Clayton.

Clayton had led cops on a nearly hour-long chase through streets and backyards in Brownsville after he started shooting at three officers who tried to approach him on Dumont Avenue around 2:30 a.m., according to police.

Three officers — one on foot and two others in a car — first chased Clayton down the Howard Avenue, where he shot and hit their car before fleeing. The officer on foot fired nine shots at Clayton, but the 29-year-old kept running, according to the video.

Thirty minutes later, while police were searching, they got a report that a man was trying to break into a nearby home through the backyard.

"[A woman]...said that a male, who was later identified as Mr. Clayton was in her backyard banging on the rear door to her residence, stating the the had been shot and was attempting to enter her home," police said.

"At that point, the officers established a perimeter around the block containing Mr. Clayton in the rear yards between Howard Avenue and Grafton Street."

Just after 3 a.m., one of the officers found Clayton in one of the backyards. Again, he took out his gun and started shooting at police, who shot back. The gunfire lasted for about 10 minutes until Clayton was hit around 3:15, police said.

In the final shootout, five officers fired at Clayton 56 times, according to police. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital and pronounced dead.

Cops later found two handguns that Clayton had been armed with during the shootout, police said.

The case would later make headlines when an officer could be heard describing Clayton as "one less a--hole to sue us" while watching video of his death. The cop can be heard laughing while watching aerial footage of the shooting in a video obtained by the New York Post.

The latest body camera and surveillance video is one of several released surrounding Brooklyn shootings involving police in the last few weeks.

The NYPD are required to release body camera footage within 30 days if an officer fires a gun under new rules put in place last year.
