At 6am on Friday, May 14th, 2021, Officers Simon, Roesch, and Fritz responded to a wildland fire near South Tahoe High. Officer Simon retrieved his fire extinguisher from his patrol car and extinguished the flames. Officer Simon lost his childhood home in the Angora fire, so he knows firsthand the kind of damage fire in the basin can cause.
