WOKE FILIPINX vs THE AMERICAN DREAM (via Joshua Luna) | EP 85

Picking up this post from the Socal Filipinos page on Facebook, I wanted to dive into what does a woke Filipino (comic strip artist) think about Filipinos immigrating to the USA and the American Dream. As someone who studied Asian American Studies, I can recognize his points, but I subscribe that we are sum of our experiences not the products of our mistakes. Luna takes on such negative approach to how Filipinos obtained a better life for themselves and their family which is not surprising as that reflects the woke ideology. Overall, I agree we need to encourage folks to learn about history but I disagree with his view that Filipino Americans are simply victims and cannot think past this "colonized mentality".
