Dorm room potato soup instant potatoes

Easy Potato soup for a college student (Dorm) or even a busy bachelor!
1 pk (4 to 5 oz) of instant potato flakes
4 1/2 to 5 1/2 cups of boiling water, depending on desired thickness. Soup will thicken as it cools.
Optional toppings: cheese, bacon, ham, or whatever leftovers you may have
