A woman is speaking out about what she calls a scary and jarring experience with a Clinton police officer. City officials say the officer did nothing wrong and they have released body cam video to support that.

Ebony Jones said she was trying to take her kids to school Tuesday when she asked a police officer for help. She claims he blew her off and called her aggressive. The road was blocked because of construction.

Jones is seen holding back tears in a Facebook live post about Tuesday's incident.

"It was as if he dismissed me as a person who needed help, how he manipulated the whole situation to see me as an aggressor and a troublemaker," Jones said. "The officer came over to me very angrily to move what I was doing I didn’t know the area I’m not from here."

The Clinton Police Department released a 12-minute video of the officer’s body cam, which shows the interaction between Jones and the officer. The video was posted to the police department's Facebook page.

"After reviewing the bodycam video of the incident at the scene and the subsequent interaction with the complainant with the traffic division supervisor, the Clinton Police Department believes that the body cam video refutes all accusations circulating on social media," Clinton police said in a statement released Wednesday. "We do believe that this incident could have been avoided had the community, school in particular, been notified of the street closure. We are working to rectify the internal communication issue that resulted in not notifying the city of the road closure for repair."
