This morning, the family attorney released a new video of a South African man shot and killed by Honolulu Police on April 14th. A judge denied the state's motion to block the evidence, allowing for evidence including the doorbell camera, 9-1-1 calls, and unredacted bodycam footage to be released.

The Ring Doorbell footage appears to show Lindani Myeni removing his shoes and saying hello to the home's occupants as he entered. Myeni then can be heard apologizing as he's seen leaving. The video features the frantic 9-1-1 transcript of the home's occupant calling for help, while it appears Myeni is seen leaving the home quietly just moments before his deadly encounter with police.

Police released snippets of body cam video when officers responded to a report of a burglary at a Nuuanu home. Officers shot and killed Myeni after they say he assaulted officers. They did deploy a taser first. The Myeni family's attorney says police failed to announce themselves and put Myeni in a vulnerable position by pointing their guns and yelling at him to get on the ground.
