Yesterday afternoon CHP H-30 responded with the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District and California State Parks to a report of a hiker suffering a serious medical emergency near Rock City.

CHP H-30 arrived overhead and lowered a San Ramon Valley Fire Captain/Paramedic Helicopter Rescue Team Member (HRT) to the scene. Once with the patient, the HRT member placed the patient in a rescue harness and prepared her for a hoist rescue.

H-30 returned overhead and hoisted both the HRT member and patient approximately 125 feet to H-30. H-30 transported them to a waiting San Ramon Valley Fire District Ambulance where the patient was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
