This morning, shortly before 10:00 am, CHP H-30 responded with the, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District and the East Bay Regional Park District to a report of a hiker suffering a medical emergency on the Shady Slope Trail.

SRVFPD firefighters made their way to the patient on foot as H-30 responded to the scene. Upon their arrival SRVFPD firefighters located the patent on a steep single tract trail and her being unable to move.

CHP H-30 arrived overhead as a FF Captain/Paramedic who is a Helicopter Rescue Team (HRT) member assessed the patient and placed her into a rescue harness. The patient was hoisted approximately 80 feet from the trail and into H-30.

H-30 flew the patient to a nearby landing zone and transferred her to a waiting San Ramon Valley Fire District Ambulance. The patient was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
