Tour beautiful Goodwood, Ontario and listen to a verse from Lucy Maud Montgomery's poem "A Winter Day."
Goodwood, Ontario is a quaint hamlet North of Toronto. It is part of Uxbridge (Canada's beloved author and poet L.M. Montgomery lived in Uxbridge for a good part of her life, from 1911 to 1926, at the Leaksdale Manse.) Lucy Maud Montgomery probably saw these very same roads at some point in her life! Enjoy the sites of heritage homes, farmlands, Concession Road 4, Annina's Bakeshop, Highway 47, Walter Taylor Park and other spots!

From "A Winter Day"
Wide, sparkling fields snow-vestured lie
Beneath a blue, unshadowed sky;
A glistening splendor crowns the woods
And bosky, whistling solitudes;
In hemlock glen and reedy mere
The tang of frost is sharp and clear;
Life hath a jollity and zest,
A poignancy made manifest;
Laughter and courage have their way
At noontide of a winter's day.

As an aside, the Canadian TV show, Schitt's Creek was filmed largely in Goodwood, Ontario and fans of this show will likely spot some of the locations in this video.
