March commemorates the annual "Women's History Month." Women's History Month is considered to be a time of celebration and "rehumanization" of women who have are said to have been historically dehumanized. Women's history month also posits correspondent political movements - such as the Equal Rights Amendment - as consequential to the progression of women in America. Mr. Watson approaches this same issue as skeptically as he did Black History Month and asks his listeners to consider the question of human experience. Do women only have a social or socially-shaped experience, or is there something greater to their being than the tides of political change? He ultimately argues against Women's History Month on that basis and encourages everyone to be seen as individuals, not the constituent sum of their physiology.
