Charles Harrington was arrested after an impressive crime spree in the Pierson area yesterday.
Early in the morning, deputies responded to a crashed, stolen Ford F-150 that was stuck in mud and water.

While investigating that, deputies were flagged down about a nearby property where two buildings were broken into, and a forklift and another Ford F-150 were stolen. The suspect(s) smashed through a gate and rode around in the truck until it got stuck. Air One located that the truck crashed in the woods at the back of the property. It was discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off.

Next, deputies received a report of another burglary and stolen vehicle. The owner's son was home at the time of the burglary. The suspect took a set of keys from the garage and stole a car along with a pair of shoes, cigarettes and a lighter.

Then deputies got another report, this time a theft of a four-wheeler from another residence.
Soon after that, another call came in reporting an unknown person riding a four-wheeler around a fernery property in the area. A man spraying pesticides heard the four-wheeler, followed the tracks, and found the suspect walking around. The suspect started asking to drink from the sprinklers (which would be unsafe), then took off running.

Another neighbor reported she witnessed a person jumping a fence and lurking in the woods. Deputy Myers soon encountered Charles Harrington walking out of the woods along the road. In his pocket were a set of F-150 keys identical to the victim's keys for the truck with its catalytic converter cut off.

Harrington was arrested on some outstanding Marion County warrants, along with several new charges of burglary and grand theft. He is in the Volusia County Branch Jail this morning on $88,000 bond.
