On August 9, 2021, Officer Austin responded to Burl L. Wilkes Park to assist paramedics on a call.

As they were wrapping up, he started to talking to some kids who were at the skatepark there and started handing out APD stickers.

A few of the the kids then asked him if he knew how to skateboard.
