Phoenix police have released dramatic bodycam video of officers reaction to shots being fired near them as they conducted a traffic stop in west Phoenix on Saturday morning.

According to Sgt. Andy Williams, it happened near 95th Avenue and McDowell Road around 6:45 a.m. Williams says that when the officers got out of their car, they heard gunfire nearby and believed it was possibly directed at them.

"Everybody get down! Everybody get down!" you could hear one officer shouting.

Moments later, you could hear an officer saying, "We're taking shots from the west," as he called for backup. Officers could also be seen shielding citizens and pulling them to safety.

Police actively searched the area but found no suspects. The westbound lanes of the I-10 were temporarily closed but the freeway reopened less than an hour later. No one was hurt.
