A dangerous driver who lead police on a 100mph chase from Walsall to Perry Barr has been jailed.
Patrick Connors was behind the wheel of a stolen BMW 5 series when he was spotted by Walsall cops, on January 5.
But the 23-year-old failed to stop for officers, sparking a risky high-speed pursuit along residential streets.
A stinger was eventually deployed to deflate Connors' tyres and the car stopped on Birchfield Road, Perry Barr.
Connors ran from the scene but was caught nearby.
Footage taken from a police dashcam and force helicopter tracking the chase can be seen above.
At one point, Connors dangerously weaves in and out of traffic in Great Barr, as he tries to escape officers on his tail.
Connors later pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
Last week has was jailed for nine months and banned from driving for two years and five months.
West Midlands Police said his actions 'put the public and other road users at risk'.
A force spokesman said: "A dangerous driver has been jailed after speeding across the West Midlands.
"On 5 January, Patrick Connors was spotted by some of our Walsall officers driving a stolen BMW 5 series with false number plates.
"The 23-year-old failed to stop for officers and continued to drive towards Perry Barr, Birmingham at speeds up to 100mph. The police helicopter was also tracking him.
"We used a stinger to deflate the tyres on the car, which finally stopped on Birchfield Road.
"Mr Connors ran off but our officers were faster and caught him nearby.
"Last Wednesday (1 September) Mr Connors, of Hampstead Road, Handsworth pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
"He was sentenced to nine months in prison and disqualified from driving for two years and five months."
