This afternoon, CHP H-30 responded with the East Bay Regional Park District firefighters to a report of a stranded hiker near Castle Rock.

H-30 arrived overhead and with the assistance of the Parks Dispatch located the hiker. The H-30 crew lowered down our newly signed off Flight Officer/Paramedic Arias to the trail where he placed the hiker in a rescue harness.

H-30 returned overhead and hoisted the hiker approximately 75 feet from the trail to H-30. The hiker was flown to waiting firefighters where he was found to be fatigued but otherwise not injured.

H-30 returned for our 3rd crew member and hoisted him from the trail.
