What's the difference between being in lockdown and being in jail? The answer from today's guest will surprise you.

Today I'm grateful to be here with my new friend, Doug Bopst. Doug is a personal trainer, author of 3 books, and host of The Adversity Advantage podcast.

Doug has a unique perspective as someone who actually spent time in jail—a former convicted felon and drug addict, Doug made the best of his time in jail to discover fitness and reinvent himself.

When you're looking around in these challenging circumstances the past year or so, a lot of people are getting weaker or they're getting broken, they're letting things get to them. And then a small minority of folks are actually getting stronger because of this, they're getting into dojo mode and getting disciplined.

Doug has a lot of interesting perspectives on how we can get out to the other side of all these challenging times even stronger than we would have otherwise been.

Doug's story was featured in a documentary film called From Felony to Fitness to Free and as of this year, he's now 12 years sober. So congratulations to Doug!
