Oklahoma City police released body camera video taken when a suspect exchanged gunfire with an officer following a pursuit.

According to police, Sgt. Aaron Richards spotted a stolen car late Monday morning in northwest Oklahoma City and tried to stop the car. A short pursuit began, which led to the stolen car crashing at Northwest 143rd Street and Walker Avenue, causing the vehicle to disable.

The driver of the stolen car, later identified as 29-year-old Aaron Sayre, got out of the car and opened fire on Richards, police said. Richards returned fire, and Sayre ran away.

Gunshots can be heard on the video taken by Richards’ body camera.
