The El Mirage Police Department released edited body-cam videos that showed the shooting of an armed man last month. In the video posted on YouTube, Police say it all started when a homeowner in the area of El Mirage and Cactus roads said a man was at their front door around 2 a.m. on Aug. 10. Security camera video shows the man checking to see if the security door was unlocked and then flipped off the camera. The man, later identified as 21-year-old Johan Alexis Salazar, was spotted nearby by an officer after Salazar matched the homeowner's description of the man at their door. Body-cam video shows Salazar greeting the officer before walking away. The officer asks him to stop but Salazar continues walking. "We got a call and you match the description," the officer said.

Moments later, two more officers arrive while seemingly undeterred, Salazar continues walking. "Hey, get over here," said the third officer." Salazar then starts to move away from the officers. "Don't, don't do it," said the third officer. The second officer then tackles Salazar while Salazar reaches for a gun from his waistband. After the two hit the ground, Salazar then runs toward the first officer and escapes all three.

Salazar then ran in between houses. The first officer then found Salazar between two homes with a gun in his hand. "He's in the backyard," said the officer. "Put your hands up! Hands up now! Drop the gun!" Police said Salazar walked toward the officer with a gun in his hand and that's when the officer fired his gun more than a dozen times. Salazar is blurred in the video while being shot. The second officer also shoots Salazar, who still has the gun in his hand while on the ground, according to police. Salazar was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

No officers were hurt and heir identities haven't been released. An investigation is ongoing.
