Over the course of the past 12 months, Valencia has seen the ebb and flow of high school sports activities during the effects of COVID-19. One year ago today exactly, he wrote his last sports story unaffected by the pandemic.

We talk about the good, the bad and the unexpected in covering sports seasons with very unusual factors like face coverings and scheduling craziness. The good news is Valencia says he has grown tremendously in new skills, as he has reinvented his coverage and style.
