Steelhead Fishing Michigan Rivers + My Winter Steelhead Fishing Setup & River Trout Fishing Set Up

Steelhead Fishing Michigan Rivers is the MO this time of year and In this Michigan fishing video I show you my Winter Steelhead Fishing Setup and some variations on my Steelhead and River Trout Fishing Set Up. There are many ways to rig for float fishing for steelhead and trout and in this steelhead fishing video I show off a few of my float fishing rigs for winter trout fishing rivers. My trout fishing setup and or river rig changes with the seasons and often I prefer to throw lures over a float fishing river trout fishing set up. Sometimes its just exciting to get a steelhead bobber down besides that float fishing is easily more productive than tossing lures during winter and spring. So during the winter when fishing is slow and tough I predominantly float fish with a tapered shot pattern or an egg sinker rig. In this video I get lucky and have a bit of Michigan steelhead fishing success and manage some winter steelhead bobber downs!

Michigan fishing is so fun but steelhead fishing turns me in to a fishing addict spending every free moment fishing or thinking about fishing or buying fishing gear. Michigan steelhead and trout are the things dreams are made of and I really enjoy chasing chrome! So far steelhead fishing Michigan 2021 has been successful but we are just getting started with steelhead for 2021! The spring run steelhead are on their way to michigan rivers as we speak! I also enjoy trout fishing in the winter because when the steelhead bite is bad I still have a chance at finding some winter trout! In this trout fishing video I show you how to catch trout in a river my way with a float fishing set up. Sometimes I use beads and or spawn bags when targeting steelhead and trout other times a jig and wax worm is the dinner of choice for salmonoids. I do a lot of experimentation when it comes to steelhead fishing Michigan rivers and thats why my winter steelhead fishing setup and river trout fishing set up is constantly changing or evolving.

I am new to Michigan steelhead fishing and have only begun steelhead fishing Michigan or anywhere a few years ago but Michigan steelhead have sucked me in and after a few years with little to no success fishing for steelhead I am beginning to get the hang of float fishing, centerpin fishing bait choices and seasonality of the steelhead run. Also understanding the habits and preferences of steelhead has greatly increased my ability to chose the right location at the right time and deliver the right bait with one of many possible winter steelhead fishing set ups.
