The word for master mason rock setters in Hawaiian is “uhau humu pōhaku”. They led a volunteer crew of all ages to build this solid rock wall to embrace the king’s statue. The name Pā’ulaʻula has been restored. It is the housing, religious & political complex of the last king of Kaua’i, Kaumuali’i.
