The Jones County Sheriff's Office is providing a look at the moment a man with a knife was shot and killed by deputies during an August 31 call in Martelle.

Jeremy Berg, 45, is shown charging at officers and deputies that night in body cam video released Tuesday. The video is from the camera worn by Jones County Deputy Tim Miller and shows the moments leading up to the justified use of deadly force, according to Sheriff Greg Graver. Berg died at the scene.

Both Miller and Deputy James Rickels are returning to active duty this week after being put on paid administrative leave after the shooting.

An investigation by the Attorney General's office has ruled the use of deadly force was justified by the two Jones County deputies - as well as Anamosa police officers Nick Brokaw, Gabe Humphrey, and Tyler Hunt.
