La Belle Dame sans Merci by John Keats

The painting I used for the cover of my album of Child Ballads is by
Walter Crane. But it wasn't inspired by any of the Child Ballads, instead it was inspired by John Keats poem, 'La Belle Dame sans Merci':

Keat's poem was possibly inspired by a French poem of the same name by Alain Chartier from the 15th century:

Though the earlier poem doesn't share much in content, other than the complex relationship between men and women.

Some photos from Pixabay, and many of the paintings inspired by Keats' poem.
