Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano Monday released a statement expressing satisfaction with Solicitor Scarlett Wilson's decision that a deputy's use of force was justified.

Vecchione fatally shot Jason Husted outside a home along Mona Avenue in West Ashley on Sept. 18.

Last week, Wilson- district attorney for South Carolina's 9th Judicial Circuit- said she will not pursue criminal charges against the deputy.

Husted, who was armed with a pistol, reportedly fired several gunshots at law enforcement officers and into surrounding homes amid a domestic altercation involving his wife that escalated into a hostage crisis and police standoff.

Graziano said Vecchione is currently on paid administrative leave, but will return soon, after being medically cleared through normal evaluation protocol.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office also released an edited 20-minute video of the incident, compiled of various body cam footage.

"After review of the evidence provided to me, it is abundantly clear that Deputy Vecchione, all the other law enforcement officers on scene, Husted's wife, and neighbors were in actual and imminent danger of death and or great bodily harm from Husted's behavior," Solicitor Wilson said in her letter to Sheriff Graziano. "The use of deadly force by Deputy Vecchione was reasonable, appropriate, and lawful in response to the unlawful actions of Jason Husted."

The case remains under investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division, standard protocol for all police-involved shootings in South Carolina.
