Three convicted felons are in the Flagler County Jail after they committed a vehicle burglary and were caught within hours. Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) deputies responded to a vehicle burglary at Waterfront Park in Palm Coast Monday afternoon. The front passenger window was broken out and a wallet and a purse were stolen.

Using the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), investigators found that the suspect vehicle was a 2015 Nissan Sentra and determined it traveled from Waterfront Park to Walmart after the burglary occurred. The victims told deputies that their bank notified them of a declined charge for $504.94 from Walmart on a credit card that was stolen during the burglary.

Not long after that, the vehicle was found leaving Walmart and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted. Once the suspects, Eriyaun Smart, Malachi Cruse, and Tra’Quad Gervin were secured, deputies located shards of glass in the pockets of Cruse’s jacket and found the victim’s purse in the vehicle along with a firearm. All three men are from Daytona Beach.

“Our Real-Time Crime Center and deputies did a phenomenal job tracking down these career offenders and apprehending them safely,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This was an amazing team effort with our RTCC crime analysts and patrol units using investigative techniques to quickly get these habitual offenders off the streets and into the Green Roof Inn. This trio has been committing crime up and down Florida and the East coast but they made the mistake of coming to Flagler County where their life of crime came to an end!”

All three men have extensive criminal histories.

Smart is charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance, Petit Theft, Criminal Mischief, and, Four Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Credit Card. He’s being held on a $28,000 bond.

Cruse is charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance, Criminal Mischief, and Four Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Credit Card. He’s being held on a $28,000 bond.

Gervin was arrested for Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance, Petit Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Four Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Credit Card. He’s being held on an $11,500 bond.
