Walkers will be stepping out for a great cause on Saturday morning. The Walk for Alzheimer’s event is raising funds to support programs and services in the community that helps those who are battling the disease. The event has raised $100,000 so far with a $300,000 goal. Lindsay Burnham with the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories says over 50,000 people have been diagnosed in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. She says raising money and awareness of Alzheimer’s is vital.

The walks starts at 9am tomorrow by Henderson Lake at the east side parking lot near the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. There is no fee to register.
