A murdering stepmum's twisted lies were caught on police body camera moments after she inflicted a six-year-old's final fatal injuries.

Evil Emma Tustin tried to cover up the prolonged physical torture suffered by Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.

She told officers the youngster had headbutted her when she tried to stop him headbutting the floor, Birmingham Live reports.

Police body worn footage reveals 32-year-old Tustin say: "Done my best for that kid he f****** hates me." He died hours later.

The stepmum has been convicted of Arthur's murder after he suffered an "unsurvivable brain injury"when his head was "banged repeatedly against a hard surface" at her home in Shirley, Solihull.

Arthur's father Thomas Hughes, 29, was found guilty of his son's manslaughter. Tustin was in sole care of Arthur at the time of the fatal assault at her home.

PC Louise Williams, from West Midlands Police, attended Tustin's home after it was reported Arthur had collapsed on June 16, 2020.

She arrived at 3.05pm and switched on her body worn camera, with footage played to the jury during the trial at Coventry Crown Court. Part of the footage has now been released by the Crown Prosecution Service following the convictions.

Tustin tells PC Williams that Arthur was instructed to "sit on the thinking step" before he "threw himself all over the floor, threw himself on the radiator, hit me in the process of trying to get him back on the step."

Tustin said that Arthur "headbutted the floor on all fours", before adding he "banged his head three or four times."

She explained that she tried to "bear hug" and "put my arms around" Arthur - but he "dropped" and then kicked her as she tried to pick him up.

Tustin tells PC Williams that Arthur had been "lashing out." She tells the officer that he has "smashed this house to pieces, battered his dad, hit me."

Tustin then says: "Done my best for that kid he f****** hates me. I couldn't get him off the floor."

The officer asked Tustin how the events unfolded that day.

She explained that Hughes was at the shop and says: "First 20 minutes he's (Arthur) literally screaming, he's been having really bad tantrums.

"We've learned to just leave him now. He was just screaming at me. I told him to sit on the thinking step. If he's a good boy he won't have to sit there."

Tustin then claimed Arthur responded by saying: "I don't care. I'll wait for my dad. Going to throw myself on the floor."

She says she threatened Arthur that he would be taken to the hospital and "they will put a needle in you", explaining it was a tactic to "scare him."

Tustin also told the officer that "nobody wants to help us, the school won't help us." She added: "He ain't been eating. Had to mash up his food like he's a baby."

Today, Tustin, and Hughes were jailed for a total of 50 years.

The court heard how the schoolboy was forced to stand in a hallway for up to 14 hours-a-day and poisoned with salt.

He endured months of lockdown beatings before he was fatally injured.

Arthur, the son of Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow, had been placed in his dad’s custody after his maternal mother was jailed for 11 years for stabbing her on-and-off partner to death.

His father Thomas Hughes was cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter and two counts of child cruelty after he actively encouraged his girlfriend to inflict violence upon him.
