On Saturday, December 5, 2020, at approximately 10:30 P.M., Christian Juarez, a 28 year-old resident of La Puente, forcefully kidnapped his girlfriend from a retail center located at 1380 Fullerton Road, Industry. A witness heard a possible gunshot and subsequently observed Juarez in the process of forcing the female victim into a vehicle. The witness reported the incident to Industry Sheriff's Station.

Deputies responded to the scene and learned Juarez had fled the location with the victim. Deputies located a purse containing the victim's identification, a 9mm pistol, and a spent 9mm cartridge case.

Approximately four hours after the kidnapping, the victim was located by a family member inside a parked vehicle. Juarez was also inside the car; however, they managed to rescue her. The victim suffered abrasions to her head and body, and she was transported by family to a local hospital to receive medical treatment.

Industry Station Investigators prepared a wanted person flyer for Juarez after he was positively identified. The wanted flyer also explained he may now be driving a newer white Jeep Cherokee.

On Sunday, December 6, 2020, at approximately 12:57 P.M., Industry Station deputies located Juarez driving a newer white Jeep Cherokee near Vidora Drive and Leone Avenue, Rowland Heights. The deputies attempted to pull Juarez over but he fled in the vehicle. A pursuit was initiated, and during the pursuit, Juarez intentionally drove head on at two occupied marked black & white patrol vehicles causing the deputies to swerve to prevent from being struck. During this short pursuit, Juarez was able to evade deputies.

Later the in the evening, at approximately 7:45 P.M., Walnut Station deputies located Juarez driving the Cherokee vehicle in the area of Alberca Drive and Vidora Drive, Rowland Heights. Juarez again fled and deputies lost sight of Juarez.

Approximately four hours later, at approximately 11:47 P.M., an Industry Station patrol deputy was conducting a patrol check on the 1900 block of Batson Avenue, Rowland Heights. As the deputy passed the driveway to an apartment complex, he observed a white Jeep Cherokee backed into a carport stall. The deputy pulled into the complex's driveway and positioned the passenger side wheel well of his marked patrol vehicle in front of the Cherokee to investigate. The deputy did not see anyone inside the vehicle and noticed the vehicle did not have a front license plate.

The deputy exited his patrol vehicle and shined his flashlight into the front windshield. He immediately saw, and recognized, Juarez sitting in the driver's seat of the Jeep Cherokee. Juarez started his vehicle and yelled, “Get out of the way or I am going to kill you!” Juarez quickly
accelerated and crashed the front end of the Jeep Cherokee into the passenger side wheel well area of the patrol vehicle. The force pushed the front end of the patrol vehicle approximately ten feet to the north.

The deputy, who was standing in the open “V” of his patrol car's driver door, was pushed back by the force causing his right foot to get caught under the vehicle, and a deputy involved shooting occurred. Juarez was shot numerous times. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and administered medical aid to Juarez but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputy sustained a sprained right ankle and right knee injury.

A narcotics pipe used to smoke methamphetamine was recovered from Juarez’ possession.

Investigators learned the white Jeep Cherokee Juarez was driving was reported stolen from a local automobile dealership.
