Hunting for Radioactive Items in Antique Shop

Went to my local antique shop to look for some radioactive items. I've visited dozens of these types of shops in different states and all of them have radioactive items like the ones I've found. All of the items I found are safe to handle and even eat off of if you wanted to. The main concern would be using metal utensils on plates like this as that might scrape off some of the uranium glaze. If that happened then you might have a high chance of ingesting some of that uranium. Wouldn't be the end of the world...but if you were doing it for years then it might have some type of effect on your health. The reason why these items have uranium in them is because uranium was used as a pigment in the glaze. In glass making uranium was added to give the glass a green or yellowish color. These items would only pose a health risk if you were to grind them up and ingest or breath in the dust...or use it as a pillow every night.

The antique shop is Antique Market and More in Bozeman Montana...one of the best in the area.
