#Cyberpunk VHS • 60 FPS 1990s VHS Documentary on the Cyberpunk anarchist hacking subculture that sprang in part out of William Gibson's Neuromancer series. Covered in the documentary also are the origins of this larger futuristic aesthetic that no doubt was born out of ideas like transhumanism, portrayed in films like Bladerunner and further solidified in such pivotal books such as Neuromancer and the rapid development of personal computing and artificial intelligence. No doubt, just like with cellphones first imagined in the Sci-Fi TV series Star Trek- novelists, filmmakers and futurists of all kinds helped develop a subculture and a future from their very own dreams. A future full of technology they were both fascinated by and fears of a global totalitarian bureaucracy they know is at war with everyone of us who are still human.
