Cowboys who’d spent their lives trying to make a fortune out of the land. Soldiers who’d fought for the losing side of a horrific war. They were my ancestors. And I always wanted to speak for them and tell their stories. That’s why I do what I do. And the stories I tell are of real people, and real events and they’re the things that made New Orleans what it is."
